Sacred Heart Foundation

The Sacred Heart Foundation of Watertown, New York is a tax-exempt corporation and qualifies as a recipient of charitable contributions that offer tax advantages to the donor.

The Foundation is particularly blessed when a supporter takes the additional step to arrange for their final remembrance of the Foundation. This kind of remembrance is called planned giving. Through gifts from benefactors, the foundation maintains an educational endowment fund.

There are several basic ways in which a gift may be provided to the Sacred Heart Foundation upon a supporter’s death. The most frequently used planned giving opportunities are:

  • Cash bequest through a will
  • Non-cash bequest through a gift of stock, bonds or real estate
  • Beneficiary of an IRA or retirement plan in a fixed amount or percentage
  • Beneficiary of a life insurance policy or one of the beneficiaries
  • A gift annuity for the foundation which is accomplished by setting a sum of money which is used to pay the donor a life annuity and, upon death, the principal is paid to the Foundation.
  • Of course, you may make arrangements for a planned gift without contacting the Foundation. However, if you wish to discuss your thought or intentions in this regard or to obtain more information on giving methods, please contact the Sacred Heart Foundation at (315) 782-3344 or any foundation Board member who you may know.
